HaCKeR
HaCKeR (download
it here) is a Tetris clone.
The game needs Direct X 8 or later! Get it at Microsoft (here).
Originally the game was supposed to have a real story and multiple paths to the
final level.
The game would put you (the hacker) against the worlds most advanced computer system!
In between levels you would be shown a circuit board, with transistors and stuff
representing levels and the CPU representing the final boss to defeat.
Who knows... maybe one day I will find the time to build all that into it...
Only the future will tell!
When you start a new game, you can select a game type.
- In HaCKeR mode you have to complete increasingly difficult levels.
- In Original mode you have to try to score as much points as possible on 1 level.
- Single player mode puts you against your own reflexes!
- In CoOp (CoOperative) mode you team up with a friend (you HAVE to work together!)
- In HaCKMaTCH mode you have to survive longer then
your opponent.
CoOp mode is where HaCKeR shines... I've never seen it before anyway... and
honestly.. I can't imagine why!
My guess is that this mode will make it into a commercial release of a Tetris
game one day, it is that good!
The Blue bar is the power bar for the 2nd Next Block display.
In HaCKeR mode, the bar is obstructed at some levels by power relays.
Complete a row at the level of the obstruction to clear it.
If all obstructions are cleared, the 2nd next block display will turn on.
In Original Mode it fills up when you drop blocks.
Once more then half of the level is filled with blocks, the 2nd next block display will be turned on.
The Red bar has a dual function.
In HaCKeR Mode it displays your current level progress.
When it reaches the top you've completed the level!
In Original Mode it indicates your speed progress.
The higher the bar, the closer you are to a speed increase.
Currently the game will speed up after every 250 points.
